A classic in the Cressi range, this has been on the market for many years and has a huge number of appreciators in every corner of the planet. The fin is made with a skilful combination of a strong copolymer and a soft elastomer, the latter used for the foot pocket, for the side stringers and for some inserts. The blade originates from the upper part of the foot pocket, with a 20% increase in useful surface area compared to a traditional fin of the same length. The foot pocket is computer designed and offers great comfort; it guarantees excellent transmission of the leg-fin thrust. The Frog is heavier than the more recently designed equivalent Cressi models. It is this feature that makes it agreeable to whoever uses very thick suits or watertight suits. Anyone who works underwater will appreciate this fin a great deal because it is strong and comfortable, very popular also in diving schools and excellent for rentals.

Cressi Frog Open Heel Diving Fins (Black, X-Small/Small) Review

I got these to replace my two year old Atomic Aquatic Liquid Blue Splitfins(~$180)Atomic Aquatics Splitfins High Performance Scuba Diving Split Fins which just did not work that well for me in strong currents. I managed all right using the Atomic Splitfin for two years but this year we dove in some really strong currents.
I tried other fins such as Mares QuattroMares Avanti Quattro Open Heel Strap Fin, Tusa LiberatorTusa Liberator Xten Open Heel Scuba Diving Fins, Force Fins, Dacor Turboflex, and Unidive. I liked these Cressi Frogs the best. They are reasonably priced, not too flex or heavy but satisfyingly substantial and effective. They feel light but not too light. I have not experienced any leg cramping with these fins.
Note that this model might be discontinued. If I couldn't get this I might have tried Cressi Reaction fins or some other traditional paddle fin.
I'm very happy with these fins. My only non-positive comment is that the straps are not as easy to adjust as the Atomic's. Still, I don't think I could have gotten a better fin for 50-60 bucks.
Just FYI, I use dive booties with open heel fins like these. Without booties they would be loose.
I wear Women's Size US 9 in shoes and the Small/Medium size of these fins fit me well.
