My wonderful GF bought this for me, along with a Swix sidewall cutter 88 degrees. Until I got the Swix iron I used an old household iron with a teflon coating to do my skis. Even at the lowest setting, wax smoked, and getting an even coating was a pain in the ass. With the Swix iron the wax is even and smooth across the whole bottom of the ski.
