I have been riding with the supersonic version for my front tire for over 4 years on trails and road and have very minimum wear. I don't know how other reviewers wore it down in 250 miles, but I have put at least 3 times that on mine and the only thing that I see wrong with it is two tiny little "chips" of rubber missing. The tires I had before these wore down to almost nothing in about two years, so the black chili compound really does its job.
