Although I am an average size woman, I have enjoyed the extra length of this mat as my cheaper and shorter mat allows my feet to go over the edge with certain stretches. This mat is firm yet soft enough to fall asleep on. I exercise in two locations, and the other mat is annoying in comparison to this one,so, I am buying this one again. It is 1/22/2012 today and I want to add I also notice at other people's houses their mats are not comfortable because they are too soft. If you have sciatica, you may be able to sleep comfortably on this mat when it rains for example,whereas the cheaper mats are too soft. It is worth the extra money! So far I bought three on Amazon. I hope they keep carrying it because I will likely want to buy more for other people. Sometimes it is the only way to get rid of sciatica symptoms when they flare up.
