After reading countless reviews; searching all over the internet and in local gun stores; purchasing and returning an NCStar Mark III Tactical due to a canted reticle, I finally settled on the Aim Sports 3-9X40 DMR scope, and I couldn't be happier!
My 57 yr old eyes need help for anything outside of 100 yards, and for $61, I wasn't sure I'd get decent optics and features. But I was pleasantly surprised without breaking the bank!
I mounted it on my Mini 14 with an NCStar MARCQ Quick Release mount to quickly switch between it and a red-dot sight. The eye relief is about 3", and the glass is clear and crisp even at 9X. The focus ring and zoom are well positioned and easy to use.
It has the illuminated reticle feature (blue and green) that I didn't think would be useful, but in low light conditions (and in conjunction with an NCStar green laser), the scope lets in enough light to let you easily see your target and put shots dead on. I used an Aim Shot .223 laser boresight to zero the scope and laser, and then it took 20 rounds to get it zeroed on paper.
All in all, this Aim Sports scope is a great deal for under $100, and the DMR reticle rocks!
