Construction

These are G10 polymer grips that fit a right handed safety. The holes are compatible with the factory screws. G10 is a composite polymer that can be as strong as titanium and just as light. It will still scratch or chip so it's not indestructible.

Fit and finish is uniform. Nice attention to detail. I have similar grips on my Government sized 1911. My guns are a tool, not for show. I wanted form and function but these are quite nice to look at. This material tends to wear better and maintain its original look long after wood has lost its luster and smoothness. It's all a personal preference.

Installation

Use Torx screws to remove the factory grips. Place the new grips on and voila! New look and feel.

I wanted grips that were easiest to hold in any situation. They also had to be contoured in such a way that there were no smooth surfaces. I believe these were named after the look and feel of an alligator. The grip is sure and stable. Thickness is the same as factory sights.
